Mark your 2007 calendars because here are the Mercury Retrograde Periods for 2007:

• February 13- March 7 2007 Mercury retrograde begins at 11 degrees of Pisces.
• June 15-July 9 2007 Mercury retrograde begins at 12 degrees of Cancer.
• October 11- November 1, 2007 Mercury retrograde begins at 10 degrees of Scorpio.

Mercury relates to our 5th chakra in the body- the will center, the ability to speak your truth, now what you want. Mercury is ruled by both Gemini and Virgo. If we are caught up in everyday black and white thinking there is no room for discernment. We become vested in one side or the other. I'm right, you're wrong. We miss the doorway. Mercury rules all forms of communication- talks, writing, debates, the internet. It’s that first form of communication beyond Mom and Dad...i.e. your brother and sisters, your neighbors, your IM friends. Shadow issues (yours, mine and ours) are revealed at a Mercury retrograde. Mercury retrograding in Pisces may bring up unconscious fears, and your relationship to Spirit- the God/Goddess of your understanding. If I am a spiritual person- am I walking my talk? Pisces is related to that pre-birth time when you floated in your mother’s womb connected to Spirit ready to move into matter– being born on earth.

When Mercury goes retrograde in the sign Cancer, it may bring up issues of security- feeling secure. Cancer represents the water energy of the Oceans, a mother’s love. Do I feel safe expressing my truth to you? Is my home environment safe? Mercury retrograding in Cancer may bring up old issues regarding your mother.

October 11-November 1, 2007 Mercury retrograde begins at 10 degrees of Scorpio: Scorpio is ruled by Mars, Pluto, and Chiron. Mars stirs up anger. Pluto takes out the garbage in your life. Chiron brings you the tools to heal wounds. When Mercury goes retrograde in the sign Scorpio we are faced with issues of death and rebirth. It's a shaman's death. Surrender. Eventually floating in your mother’s womb the waters became toxic, you had to push out to be born into this world.

Scorpio’s energy represents that same water energy that you had to break through in order to be born into this world. Again our conscious mind is out to lunch, so we may be called to release an old pattern or habit that is fueled by the black and white thinking of our past. Emotional energy may be fixated on the past- holding up, holding on, holding back. The energy of Scorpio calls us to break down to break through. There may be intense emotions related to this release. It may be a time to reach out, get support and ask for help.

Shamanic journey for Mercury retrograde in Scorpio: Scorpio is the place in your birth chart that holds great power for you, it is also the energy that challenges you to go deeper.
