Jupiter in Capricorn-fix-it

February 8, 2007- The Oprah Show reveals The Secret. Minions across the planet start discussing the Laws of Attraction and creating the life they want. So very Jupiter in Sagittarius. Now on December 19, 2007 Jupiter enters Capricorn for the first time in 12 years. One month later Pluto enters Capricorn to stay for the next 17 years. Jupiter’s asks us to take a risk.

Pluto’s energy transforms by taking things apart from the inside out. Pluto in Capricorn is a rendering energy-fix the structure. "[We may see] a true New World Order based on an in-depth understanding of reality united with a deep respect for the need for material power to be illuminated by the Light of Transcendence."-astrologer MJ Abadie

Rev’Ed note: This post was to be published on 11/29 but for some reason TypePad published it early and it went out across the blogosphere. Rather than delete it, I said so be it. If you get double dosed with the post, my apologies. There is a reason. Just transport yourself to 11/29 a few weeks ahead. Or mark your calendars to come back on December 19th. :-D- michele

You have the tools and skills to do what is needed.Saturn rules Capricorn- in that sign you become disciplined, practical and persistant. I am the One who Builds. Capricorn rules structures, ie governments, social security, the patriarchy.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius-this energy provides a foundation for systems of beliefs- religious, philosophical, ethical attitudes. How you frame your images and beliefs based on the system, society you were raised in. Example-think the recent troubles of ’Dog the Bounty Hunter’ racist remarks, his not thinking anything of it.

Pluto traveled through Sagittarius from 1995-2007 de-structuring the belief systems. This happened within you and around you.

At the end of this Pluto in Sag journey in 2007 The Secret was revealed on Oprah with people telling you why it works. Now that Jupiter is moving into Capricorn we’ll become more focused and practical. I would imagine people like Bill Harris from the Secret will be sharing why it has not worked for you. That’s the practical side of Jupiter in Capricorn.

Contraction, expansion and stasis: How is your Life Pulse around money? Saturn contracts and Jupiter wants to expand. This push/pull energy occurs in our bodies through our 1st [Saturn] and 2nd [Jupiter] chakras. You can know how grounded [1st chakra and Saturn] you are by looking at your money issues. Are you in a...

Contracted state- fight or flight, how are you moving money in your life? Are you constantly on edge not knowing where it all goes, there’s never enough. Do you feel the need for silence/contemplation or just plain “I want to stop reading because she’s tapping a nerve.” An energetic contraction may bring up “I need to get out of my body and numb out” This is mud may be related to the earth of Saturn, your 1st chakra.

Expanded state-merged with spirit, mystic…feet off the ground “I am merged and the physical doesn’t matter.” Or the flip of this there’s never enough so I need to hoard or get things for free. Expanded states bring on creativity, growth, building…expansion also translates to greed, cruelty, and hoarding. This mud (emotions in the body) is related to the fire of Jupiter 2nd chakra, the earth of Taurus. (Taurus rules hoarding and we saw a lot of that negative intent while Saturn moved through Taurus in 1999).

Stasis- balanced, heart centered, loving. Can also represent the inner state of stagnation, putrefication and inertia. Muddy water of Mars in Scorpio/3rd chakra, power issues, don’t worry here’s where Pluto steps in. Now you have the picture of contraction, expansion and stasis related to your money issues and self-worth issues.

Jupiter in Capricorn offers up a combination of tasks- first ground then expand into. How are you contracting in fear, refusing to change, connected to your tribal conditioning [Saturn]? Trust yourself, expand into a new venture, a new way of being. Where is Capricorn in your chart? That is where the action is.

Or the flip of this- how have you expanded too fast and now you don’t feel like your feet touch the ground? Check in- are you grounded? If not, then fix-it. Get grounded. It’s all about balance (heart chakra and Libra).

Fiery Jupiter asks you to take a risk; it’s archetypal force represents truth and wisdom. With Jupiter’s energy we are collectively called to expand, venture out beyond our comfort zone. To travel beyond our borders, to learn something new. To connect with, embody the God of our understanding through our own inner knowing [versus what we are told about God]. Angeles Arien in the Four Fold Way shares "To tell your truth without attachment to the outcome is the Way of the Warrior." Collectively aren’t we all rubbing up against one another’s cultural truth for God, so very attached to the outcome.

Jupiter entered the sign Sagittarius in December of 20061). His home town. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. It takes Jupiter 12 years to complete a cycle in one’s birth chart. Pluto had been dismantling and renovating the Sagittarius house since 1995. When Jupiter entered the sign for the first time in 12 years things had changed. It’s been a year of discoveries.

Now that Jupiter is entering the sign Capricorn, a new structure is needed. There is a natural contraction. In Capricorn we are cautioned to not go at this too fast, because a firm foundation is in order. Think of a pressure cooker.

Saturn in Virgo, September 2007 through 2009 -brings up our fear of not being perfect. Keep in mind that Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is now moving through the sign Virgo bringing up work and health issues, asking you to edit and sort through the clutter of your life and heart to find a new balance. With Jupiter entering Saturn’s sign, an auspicious occasion, there is a natural dance between Saturn and Jupiter. Just remember Saturn’s taking the lead. Are you ready? The pressure is on.

As Pluto gets ready to move into Capricorn in the next 35 days, our Essential Self knows something is up in the collective psyche, but we can’t see it yet. That is making people on edge. Earth rumblings. Add the holiday stress, and well you get the picture.

Your 3rd Chakra is ruled by Mars. Are you feeling queasy? Mars is still retrograding through the sign of Cancer [stomach] and Gemini [throat chakra] from November 12 through January 30; this retrograde period is bringing up our issues around feeling safe in speaking our truth, in home and heart matters.

Fiery Mars does not like to be in watery Cancer. Fire is yelling, "Hey water don’t put me out!" The archetypal force of Mars is forward motion, go get what I want now, action energy. Now Mars has stopped, forcing you to deal with issues of power in your emotional body (the Moon in you). The last thing Mars wants to do is spend time dealing with feelings and communication issues- ’get over it already.’ If you are causing trauma/drama then deal with your issues, don’t spew on people.

5SCobserverIf you slay people with your angry words, isn’t it time to do things differently? The power of your words have the ability to harm or heal, which are you opting in for?

  • What happened for you the last time Jupiter moved through the sign Capricorn?
  • How old were you during these years?
  • Are your children or grandchildren the same age, how are you being triggered? Who and what’s tweaking you? Wake up.
  • Where does Capricorn sit in your birth chart? What house? Any planets there in Capricorn, Aires, Cancer, Libra. Those areas will be affected during this transit.

To start the new year maybe it’s time to get an astrology reading. As a reference point these are the years Jupiter moved through Capricorn:

March 1960-1961
February 1972-1973
January 1984- February 1985
January 1996-1997
Now December 2007-2008

Become an observer, create a self portrait through the SoulCollage® process. Expect to be revisiting issues, people or places and taking the Jupiter in Capricorn experience [wisdom] to a new level of understanding during the next year in 2008.

Before Jupiter enters Capricorn, journey to your Shamanic Teacher, Helping Ally and ask what is necessary. It’s an excellent time for a dismemberment journey.

Create a SoulCollage for this Jupiter in Capricorn energy. The best way to work with Jupiter is to create with the energy of the moment, start with an image from a magazine that calls to you. Work with the process of "I am the One who...and then allow a dialog to unfold in your journaling. Release what isn’t working, and allow the new structure to be created.

Fix-it and be reborn. It’s time.

1) Jupiter in Sagittarius:

February 1971-1972
January 1983-1984
January 1995-1996
December 2006-2007

What was happening for you in those years? You may have aha’s and/or you may be screaming ‘aaarrggh’. During the past year in 2007 you may have revisited issues, people or places and taken the experience [wisdom] to a new level of understanding.

I am the one who walks and laughs.

Here is another collage submitted by my dear friend Catherine Woodson. Jupiter is moving through Catherine’s 6th house this year, the area of ceremonial magic-“how do I make everyday matters a ritual that lends meaning to my life?” As Jupiter moves through this area of her chart and change she is called to weave the magic of the 12th house (Spirit) with the 6th house (matter) energies together-to become the practical mystic (Virgo/Pisces).

Typically we talk about 6th house as the place to address work and health issues like exercise, to-do lists, mundane stuff. Now imbue the mundane by making it vibrant; embody spirit and ground the energy. This year is a time of integration and balance within as we are called to show proficiency at our creative endeavors.

The caution according to Stephen Forrest in his book the Inner Sky-“endless busyness at tasks that have no personal meaning; drudgery and wage slavery. [Not getting paid what I am worth because I don’t know my true value and lack competence]”.

After Jupiter moves through the 6th house and we take care of the practical matters we are ready for partnering. I faced my fears, know who I am, tapped into my intuition and my spirit is now seated within my physical body. Rather than merging with you because of my wound, I now partner with you. I am a fearless woman. “I face the world and my relationships (Jupiter entering the 7th house next year), I have the presence of mind and body.”

Providence rules at this New Moon in Sag

I am browsing in the bookstore when I notice a very scruffy man sharing space in the same row of books. The voice in my head is saying ‘don’t talk to strangers’. Even so I cautiously find myself engaging in a conversation with him as he blurts out whatever he seems to be thinking about our surroundings, and during our brief interchange I find myself saying to him- “oh that is so lucky.”

He replies with authority “No that’s not luck, it’s Providence!” A chill moves through me as an ultimate truth is spoken. Providence. Luck is when I have no connection to Spirit. Providence means my angels have intervened- it is a divine intervention, a partnership acknowledged. Jupiter is said to rule issues of fate, good fortune, luck and providence. With Jupiter’s energy we want to expand into something, push out beyond our comfort zones.

There is a New Moon in Sagittarius on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 9:01 am est. Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is all about risk taking. At this lunation you may be called to stretch, risk or die.

The Jupiter Collages- a reminder

Miracles– The Aramaic word for miracles, nes, also means to “run away.” When we “run away” from the Desire to Receive for the Self Alone- the selfish longings of our ego– miracles happen. In other words, we must affect the miracle within nature in order to ignite miracles around us. Your ability to transform from a place of reactivity to one of sharing will determine the amount of miracles that you’ll witness in this month of Sagittarius.-from the book Kabbalistic Astrology

LightThis is the season of Light. This is the season of miracles. Are you busy cutting and pasting? I am excited to share the Jupiter Collages I have received from readers are posted here.

Many of you are still cooking with this energy, many have shared it is so much fun. I expect more collages in the next 48 hours. April Kent wrote about the SoulCollage® process on her Big Sky Astrology blog about the Full Moon. And if you missed it…this is what I am talking about…

My challenge to the New Moon Journal readers– make a collage representing this Jupiter energy and what it means for you. Make a SoulCollage® card, or make a collage to honor this time in your life. Don’t make the process too complicated…all you need are some magazines, a glue stick, scissors and paper. Cut out and glue images that call to you- images that represent what Jupiter’s energy stands for at this time in your life. Trust the process, your Greater Self will emerge, your little story shape shifts.

Send along your birth information and I am going to pick three collages (out of a hat) and showcase the images and the astrology of it all at the next new moon in Sag on December 20th. Send your collage via email to [michele at newmoonjournal dot com] along with your birth information:

Given name at birth:
Day of birth: mm/dd/yyyy
Time of birth- hh:mm and indicate am____ or pm____
Place of birth:

We are all Light reflecting…expect a miracle.

Challenge for Jupiter in Sagittarius-get a mini reading

one of Michele's SoulCollage cardsLast week Jupiter entered Sagittarius on November 23, 2006. Jupiter is the archetype of the Teacher within all of us that knows how to take our blessed wound and make magic from it.

Now I have a challenge for you! I want you to make a collage representing this Jupiter energy and what it means for you.

I recommend that you make your collage no larger than 8.5 x 11 so you can scan it and email it too me. I invite you to journal about your collage.

When you send me your collage (j-peg please) share a bit about what happened. Include your birth information. I’ll pick three [3] collages. If your collage is selected I’ll look at your chart [no names used] and write about the astrology of it all at the New Moon December 20th.

It’s like getting a mini-reading about what Jupiter holds in store for you during the next year. You can email your collage to michele at newmoonjournal.com by Friday, December 7th. When you send me your collage please know I may be sharing the image online. Here are some links to read more about the SoulCollage® Card process.

“Stir into the Flame the gift of God which is within you.”- St Paul’s letter to Timothy

Let’s stir the Flame this year by making a SoulCollage® Card representing the archetype of Expansion. 2nd chakra. Jupiter in Sagittarius represents:

  • Quest for Truth including religion, prayer and higher guidance, frankness and honesty, direct communication.
  • The Natural world, including connections to nature, intuition, peace of mind.
  • Freedom including spontaneity, adventure, positive expectations, exploration, foreign travel.
  • Legal Issues- attorneys, lawsuits, ethics, morality, conscience and court proceedings.
  • Optimism including faith, friendliness, good luck, generous spirit and gallantry.
  • Higher education including mentors, colleges and universities, philosophy, seeking answers and finding solutions.
  • Carelessness- shortcuts, self-righteousness, making assumptions, excuses extravagance, blunt communication, Pollyanna approaches.
  • Restoring health of hips, liver, sciatica, thighs and upper legs
  • Overcoming Excess

Fiery Jupiter asks you to take a risk. Jupiter represents truth and wisdom. With Jupiter’s energy we are collectively called to expand, venture out beyond our comfort zone. To travel beyond our borders, to learn something new. To connect with, embody the God of our understanding through our own inner knowing [versus what we are told about God]. Jupiter just entered the sign Sagittarius last week. His home town. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. It takes Jupiter 12 years to complete a cycle in one's birth chart. Last week I had a profound dream about Jupiter’s cycle in my life. Those times I took the risk and expanded have lead me down some wonderful roads. I thought I’d share the dates the last time Jupiter was in Sagittarius:

  • February 1971-1972
  • January 1983-1984
  • January 1995-1996
  • Now-December 2006-2007

What was happening for you in those years? You may have aha’s and/or you may be screaming ‘aaarrggh’. You may find yourself revisiting issues, people or places and taking the experience [wisdom] to a new level of understanding.

Jupiter traveled through Scorpio last year, meaning that in order to expand into something we had to be willing to let go of the old ways. Clean house. A year of stopping and starting- digging into heavy emotions, deep water. Jupiter's energy in Sagittarius works to help us expand into new territory- personally and professionally. Where is Jupiter in your chart? What doorway does Sagittarius sit…that’s where the action is? Keep in mind you don’t have to know astrology to honor Jupiter’s energy in your life. Trust the process -you just had a year of Jupiter in Scorpio. **smile**

Thanks so much for stopping by. Any questions???, use the comment area below. Scissors ready, let’s create!
Warmly,

Ready, willing and able to Dance with the Stars at this New Moon in Scorpio.

Dancing bears for ShiloAre you ready? Are you able? The New Moon in Scorpio is Monday. This New Moon (Sun and Moon) sits at 29 degrees of Scorpio conjunct with Jupiter. You have been dancing with these Scorpio energies at such a deep level all month, all year. Oh me, oh my!!

Look at it this way…the new moon represents the little me wanting to be big. New Moons represent a time to tap into our shadow issues, shadow self that wants to keep us small. Stay put. So I search and search looking for the something or someone outside [of self] that will bring me Home [to God].

The full moon energy is that Big me, the Essential Self, that already knows I am and you are divine. No questions asked, no tasks to perform. No community to join. This Self doesn’t care if you are Democrat or Republican. Muslim or Jew. This Self know that God is within us and around us. God’s spirit infuses everything–the sky, the earth, the wind, the water. Everything is a conversation with God. Soul energy in motion, fluid and serving.

Part 3 - Sitting Pretty -the New Moon in Libra

AcornFall is about harvesting the seeds for planting next spring. What you planted in March 2006 is now ready for harvesting. If you planted weeds then you are harvesting weeds. If you planted corn you are harvesting corn. Cycles and rhythm and balance are what this astrology stuff is about. Bringing the sky and the earth together and honoring the rhythm of the seasons, the rhythms of the day and the night forces. This rhythm around you is mirrored back within you. In that regard issues we may be dealing with are ready to be taken to the next level, released and surrendered too (Scorpio) based on the way you think (Mercury).

Are you asking yourself why am I in this funky place again?

New Moon in Libra
October 22, 2006 at 1:14 AM est
28 degrees Libra 40 minutes

This New Moon in Libra rules:

  • Marriage including partnerships, agreements, sharing, interdependence
  • Fairness including balance, equality, appreciation of opposite views, negotiation, counseling.
  • Harmony- peace, beauty, art, decorations.
  • Teamwork- giving and receiving, collaboration, supportive relationships, cooperation.
  • Social ability- being companionable, tact, getting along with others, one on one interactions, diplomacy, affinity for others.
  • Refinement- luxury, elegance, pampering, good taste, grace.
  • Loss of self-identity- co-dependency, appeasing behaviors, indecision, aimless discussion.
  • Restoring health- adrenal glands, buttocks, diabetes, kidneys.

Seesaw1This lunation requires some serious action, Saturn in Leo is demanding it. Libra an air sign ruled by Venus seeks balance, harmony. She rules law, justice and fair deals. Fair play. When we are out of alignment, then the scale swings to one side or the other.

  • Libra is about our relationship to other– siblings, parents, partners– marriage and friends.
  • Libra represents 7th house of relationships.  Marriage. At this new moon relating is highlighted.
  • Who am I in relationship to you? Where do I get lost?
  • Where do I hold back? Am I in balance?
  • Is this my truth or your truth? Where do I stand and what do I stand for?
  • What truth am I telling myself about this relationship?
  • A paradigm is truth concretized. Do I need to shift my thinking, reevaluate my relationships? Compromise?
  • A paradigm is a truth we hold as real. What truth am I vested in? Is it mine or someone else's?
  • What you planted at in the Spring March 2006 is now ready for harvest. What seeds are you reaping through your emotional, spiritual, mental and physical body?

When I was a kid at the Jersey shore we went to the 34th Street playground. It was always fun to find the balance on the seesaw. That’s the way I think of Libra’s energies – we are called to balance body, mind and spirit like a seesaw. In partnering with another the goal is to stay within yet merge- there is always a dance with balance issues. Relationship issues are up- how you partner with another, how you balance your needs versus your husband, children, work. ***smile***

At this New Moon VENUS/SUN/MOON/MARS are all lined up at 27-29 degrees of Libra. These are personal planets, energies related to the chakra centers within your body:

  • Venus rules the Heart- the 4th chakra. How are you in harmony with others? What relationships past or present still get you? Who are you holding hostage? You may want to work with Byron Katie's book– Loving What Is.
  • Moon rules the 6th chakra- the seat of intuition. How do you access that divine wisdom within on an intuitive level? How secure am I with my own knowing, seeing, hearing? If this chakra is wanting you may want to read the book Divine Guidance by Doreen Virtue.
  • Sun rules the 8th chakra- your connection to Spirit, the God Force. Bringing Spirit's energy down into your body. How do you make that connection real in everyday matters? Grounded Spirit. If this chakra needs building, you may want to read Sacred Contacts by Carolyn Myss.
  • Mars rules the 3rd chakra- the seat of power. If this chakra is wounded you may want to read my friend Colleen’s new book: Energy for Life: Connect with the Source and Inner Power: Six Techniques for Increased Energy and Self-Healing. If you haven’t got a clue what I am talking about, then go for a walk, ask for a healing dream. This is a time to show up for yourself.

For the past couple days I have stirred the pot talking about Scorpio. At the time of the New Moon in Libra Jupiter and Mercury are holding court at 22 degrees of Scorpio. Mercury (the communicator) meets up with Jupiter, moves off then comes back to meet with Jupiter. This happens three times during the next 30 days. Jupiter’s energy asks us all to take a risk.

The Call: You might remember that in May of 2000 there was a planetary lineup of Jupiter and Saturn at 22 degrees of Taurus. The Call: a new global structure to be built on practical values, based on heart and soul. Everyday Matters. Jupiter and Saturn left a mark- personally and globally.

The Response: Now these energies are at a crossroad called a square – Jupiter in Scorpio, Saturn in Leo. What did you want to create back in Spring of 2000? What opportunities occurred to build something new. How did you join forces with the right people? Issues of relating– you are called at this lunation to bring long standing problems to an end. Don’t drag your ratty old bag of trash deeper into this cycle– leave it at the door.

That’s the letting go part of Scorpio– in the fixed signs we want to hold back, hold on, hold up because it’s routine, we feel secure in those routines. Scorpio demands Pushwe surrender. Did you know that the New Moons until Spring of 2007 all occur at the late degrees. This time is fated, the energy presenting itself is finished, time to move on, move through. You have the tools in hand to make the changes. Push out of your comfort zone.

Where is 21-24 degrees of Scorpio in your chart? That is where the action is. The cycle back in 2000 asked you to create something of value. Practical value. You had six years to build a new foundation. The things that don’t work in this cycle are up for revision. That’s a challenge –mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Libra is about balance. Libra at 29 degrees acts more Scorpio.

So if you are a healer, you can’t be all woo-woo with it. Someone (you) must pay the bills. Come out of your shell. Do a dismemberment journey.

On the other hand have you been called to be a healer??? Maybe you approached this with so much practicality, driven by your need for security that now you find your life and things in a tizzy.  Have you been too practical, too rigid? Stuck. Break out of the shell. Do a dismemberment journey.

I am talking about the Taurus/Scorpio polarity- the seesaw. Finding that centerpoint of balance. Last May many of my readers graduated from Sandra Ingerman’s two year training. What did you shout out into the Ring? What you are facing now is part of that declaration. Look to the chakra’s I have referenced. Any insights there? Now is a good time to journey to your Teachers in non-ordinary reality. Since Fall’s harvest is about separating the wheat from the chaff a dismemberment journey may be in order. Check in, frame the question…we are all letting go to build anew next Spring.

The sky energies of Taurus and Scorpio’s work together on the seesaw of life to balance out practicality with power. Holding on, holding up, holding back related to your thinking. Jupiter has been moving through Scorpio this past year getting you ready to take a different path…maybe the road less traveled. What you are noticing is the an inner resistance. And I celebrate this with you because you are right on target. Cry, fret, beat some pillows then move on. This lunation in Libra is stirring the pot, asking you to look again and face the fears.

Where is 29 degrees of Libra in your chart?  Where is 22 degrees of Scorpio? 24 hours before the New Moon go within, connect with what is working and learning you. Journey on it.

24 hours after the New Moon- write down your intentions, verbalize it, and let it go.

Sitting Pretty- Mercury goes retrograde in Scorpio, Part 2 of 3

Knowledge of who you are emerges the way a Polaroid develops: it takes time to see the image clearly and know what you are working with. Every single one of us at birth is given an emotional acre all our own. You get one, your awful Uncle Phil gets one, I get one, Tricia Nixon gets one, everyone gets one. And as long as you don’t hurt anyone, you really get to do with your acre as you please. You can plant fruit trees or flowers or alphabetized rows of vegetables, or nothing at all. If you want your acre to look like a giant garage sale or an auto-wrecking yard, that’s what you get to do with it. There’s a fence around your acre, though with a gate, and if people keep coming into your land and sliming it or trying to get you to do what they think is right, you get to ask them to leave. And they have to go because this is your acre. – writer Anne Lamont in her book Bird by Bird.

Sitting prettyThis is a story of my acre and sitting pretty. If you click the image on your right you’ll see the words- pretty, prey, pride. A couple of weeks ago the JCrew holiday catalog came to our home. On the cover was this young woman kneeling in a beautiful dress. The taffeta skirt with all its rich green folds and shades kept calling to me. I couldn’t bring myself to throw the image away…so I cut it out. Then she sat on our kitchen counter. It’s homecoming time and our daughter’s [M] last year of high school. M had bought a dress on her own with some friends…and I thought well that task is taken care of.

Sitting Pretty- Mercury goes retrograde in Scorpio, Part 1 of 3

This is part one of a three part series I am sharing this week leading us up to the New Moon in Libra on Sunday, October 22rd.

Sitting pretty1Mercury, the communicator goes retrograde at 25 degrees of Scorpio on October 28th. Because Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, and we had an eclipse in Virgo at 29 degrees on September 22 it’s time to make yourself comfortable. Our thinking processes are undergoing a deep transformation over the next 60 days (October 2– December 8th).

That leaves me asking are you sitting pretty? Scorpio is a deep, dark transforming energy. Power versus Force. Scorpio rules the 8th house, the house of the Shaman, the place of letting go. In the sign Scorpio we want to control things. Scorpio is ruled by both Mars and Pluto. The negative aspects of this energy are anger and aggression-bottled up emotions that explode chaoticly everywhere on everyone. Or are you a silent sufferer and turn the Scorpio waters inward, wounding yourself? For the past year Jupiter has been moving through Scorpio, asking us to face our fears and expand into new territory. Sit pretty, get comfortable, take a risk. The last time Jupiter was in Scorpio November 1993– December 1994. What was happening to you at this time? You had 12 years to learn the lessons Scorpio in Jupiter offered up. What’s next?

DANCINGCScorpio rules life’s death/rebirth process. Time to dance with those family skeletons! Death of the old ways to move into a new way. Ruminate. Eliminate.Transform. Scorpio is the keeper of the toxic waters and wastes within your body. On an emotional level it is the water that sits and goes stagnant, emotions that don’t get expressed that suddenly explode all over another person- friend or foe…emotions fueled by a thinking process too controlled. Scorpio energy is a fixed sign. In the Fixed Cross- Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius – we want to hold on, hold up, hold back in an effort to control life. Life lessons learned very early in childhood– especially around the age of two and potty training (so very Scorpio). Sometimes this control energy is a good thing, if our emotional body is clear (our wounded inner child is healed). Healthy righteous anger can move mountains- transform. You become a change agent. There is a difference about being in control (power) and being controlling (force).

Where does this 25 degrees of Scorpio sit in your own chart? On October 28th when Mercury starts the retrograde process– habits, patterns and routines that no longer work for our body mind and spirit are up for renewal- time to renovate. Mercury goes retrograde with Jupiter at his side. Jupiter asks you to take a risk, trust what you couldn’t trust 12 years ago. It’s a wonderful opportunity to do the inner work and make positive changes in your life. When we follow the rhythms of these sky energies, we become more grounded and better able to manifest our hopes wishes and dreams. This is a time where you’ll face some demons that have been knocking at the door. Where is Scorpio in your chart? Leading up to this event you may have found clues or omens the Universe has sent your way to introduce you to what’s in store over this next 60 day period. Stay Aware.  As Angeles Arrien’s states so clearly in her book the Four Fold Way– all we have to do is show up, pay attention, tell the truth and be open to the outcome.

Suggested Shamanic Journey: For those who are trained in shamanic journey work, now isSpiral the time to journey to your Teachers and Spirit Helpers to ask “what is necessary at this Mercury retrograde period?” I suggest that you frame your question based on the omens and insights that have been presented to you in the last 20 days. This may be related to the House in your birth chart where Scorpio sat for you at the moment of your birth. There is a sweet story to be shared and I invite you to comment below.

After the journey create an image of what you want to release, bring this object to a fire ceremony and ask the Spirit of the Fire (Jupiter) take the burdens, transform the water within you. Focus on harvesting the Power, the God force within you. Focus on Loving yourself. Embody as much Light you can and then send that light out into the Cosmos. Track you own inner dialog as much as possible, watch for omens- signs that you are connected to a Loving God and Universe.

Look for Part 2– Pride, Prey, Pretty– how this is working moi in your mailbox tomorrow...

New Moon in Scorpio

Remember that even though there is tension and chaos all around, dear Pisces, you don't have to let this affect you. Your motto should be that you are "in it but not of it." Understand that the basis of most feuds boils down to the struggle between the old and the new. Try not to let their battles become your own. Learn from them by placing yourself close enough that you can observe and understand, but far enough away that you do not get your hands dirty.-Michele’s Sun Horoscope

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 at 8:25 PM we have a new moon in Scorpio (10 degrees). Where is Scorpio in your chart? What house is involved? That is where the action is. In Scorpio we want to merge. . .it is a powerful sign of transformation and resurrection. I have been living in tension and chaos for almost three months, beginning with Hurricane Katrina and ending hopefully with Wilma. I have been frazzled, put myself back together energetically only to be hit again and taken to my knees.Transformation and resurrection as my body, mind and spirit is tested and put to the task these past three months-learning day to day how to be “in it but not of it”. I don’t know who will be reading the journal this month. Many of my south Florida readers don’t have power. They have to boil water to drink. No cable to watch TV or go online. There is no gas to drive their cars. South Floridians have been living in chaos. Before Wilma and After Wilma- what our life was and what our life is like now. The landscape and energy of the land has shifted calling each of us to let go, surrender to the moment. Where Scorpio is in your chart you are:

  • Determined and forceful
  • Emotional and intuitive
  • Powerful and passionate
  • Exciting and magnetic

The shadow side of your Scorpio energy may manifest as:

  • Jealous and resentful
  • Compulsive and obsessive
  • Secretive and obstinate

Wilma carThere is tension and chaos in Scorpio. Scorpio is both powerful and stubborn. Scorpio represents that element of water which becomes stagnant and toxic because it doesn’t know how to let go. Flow of emotions. Think of polluted toxic water and you are in Scorpio’s energy. All this energy is related to the 8th house representing yours, mine and our issues with death and rebirth-dying to the old ways so the new has room to take ground. Our old emotions that no longer serve us, but we hold on, hold in, hold back because of past conditioning. If we hold on to things, places and/or relationships that no longer work in our life path then we are not living in authenticity. This Scorpio new moon comes along and expects you to purge those old ways so you can live authentically. This kicks off the year of Jupiter in Scorpio. Get ready to rock and roll, and I don’t mean musically.

Jupiter in Scorpio: In South Florida Wilma passed our way on October 24 in a big way with powerful winds. The next day Jupiter the planet of good fortune, knowledge and truth, the energy of expansion moved into transforming Scorpio to stay for the year. What does this mean for you, well if you are trying to create something new (expand) expect to let something go (Scorpio ruled by Pluto). In other words expect a year of letting go in order to expand into new opportunities. And those of us who have experienced the winds of hurricanes this year and last have already entered the task of Scorpio. So at this new moon I am going to give myself a break, and surrender to another to write more of this new moon. I invite you to check out this link to read about the energies of this New Moon in Scorpio. Me, I am busy cleaning up from Wilma.

Putting ourselves back together in a new way. . .resurrecting the house, the land and myself- of moving from the darkness of the storm into the light. Scorpio calls for total transformation, a surrendering from you. Before he comes knocking, be ready to hand over what no longer works. There is no use resisting, its meant to be. Celebrate it. Dance with it, be in it not of it. Scorpio rules the bowels in our body- the elimination processes. In the fall we face issues of letting go of what no longer works for us, this is the time of harvest. Six months from now you’ll be working with the seeds gathered from this Scorpio New Moon at the spring planting. Intentions are like seeds and if we release the outer shell that no longer serve us we can head towards the light of the Sun. Resurrection and restoration. I find this a fascinating time. Have a great Halloween.

Law of Abundance
24 hours Before the New Moon
The purist time of the month. Go Within and connect to what the need is for that area (see the house where the moon is located on your own natal chart) of your life.

24 Hours After the New Moon
The most fertile time of the month to plant energy for new growth. SEND IT OUT! Write it down.  Release the Intention. Verbalize it. Visualize it as complete. Write your positive affirmations and let it go.

ShamanicShamanic Journey for the New Moon in Scorpio: For those that know how to journey, this new moon would be a great time to go to your Helping Allies and asked to be dismembered. Dismemberment is a way of letting go of what no longer works for you. You may be dismembered by an element– burned in the fire, taken to your core by sand, melted like the wicked witch in water, buried in earth. It is a long honored process of consciously working with the energies of transformation and regeneration. If you don’t know how to journey then read Sandra Ingerman’s book Shamanic Journeying from Sounds True.

The book includes a drumming CD. Shamanic journeying is the inner art of travelling to the “invisible worlds” beyond ordinary reality to retrieve information for change in every area of our lives—from spirituality and health to work and relationships. With Shamanic Journeying, readers join world-renowned teacher Sandra Ingerman to learn the core teachings of this ancient practice and apply these skills in their own journey. Includes drumming for three shamanic journeys. Item #K784D 80-page hardcover book and drumming CD cost $19.95. To order click here to go to Sounds True.
